There is a lot of information on the Internet about Acne, how to cure it, and how to get rid of it. However can you really believe everything you read? Sadly the answer more then likely is that you cannot trust everything you read online about acne.
So what are some of the most common acne myths?
The first and probably most common acne myth is that by washing your face more often it will help clear up your skin quicker. In fact washing your face to much can actually lead to irritation, and might even cause your pores to become clogged.
The best acne treatment is to just wash your face twice a day once in the morning and once again at night. Make sure you wash gently as scrubbing to hard or using a washcloth can do more damage then good.
Another popular myth is that sex causes acne. This isn’t true, and most people believe this because they usually start to see signs of acne while going through puberty. Some believe this was a lie told to young adults to keep them from having premarital sex.
Finally our last acne myth is that sun will help clear up your acne. While the sun may work at first it is only a short-term fix, and actually does more damage in the long run. People who get sun burn will usually notice they begin to break out as the skin starts to heal. Getting sun exposure is a good thing, but too much will only lead to my acne in the following weeks.
Acne myths are a common thing, and get passed on from person to person. So the next time you hear something about how to get rid of acne that you’re unsure about. Do a simple search on the Internet and make sure it actually does what you where told as not everything you hear about acne is true.
